The IRIS Circle Drawing Tool from Makers Cabinet is simply a beautiful tool. It is made from precisely Machined,Polished, and Knurled solid brass as well as 20 stainless spring steel leaves to create a moving aperture. Every aspect of the design has been carefully thought out, including the natural rubber on the base to provide stiction while the iris is being adjusted. There is fine knurling on its top surface and an easy to read scale 3-70mm for accurate and easy setting of diameters. The IRIS opens and closes smoothly. This tool is a pleasure to use; you will be looking for reasons to use it. Also included is a dual-purpose, solid walnut stand for displaying this tool as art when not in use, as well as functioning as a centering tool when placed inside the IRIS (when it is fully opened). The back of the IRIS has "IRIS and Makers Cabinet" laser-engraved on the leaves, but this is visible only when the IRIS is fully closed. The packaging is durable and attractive recycled laser-cut paper and includes instructions. The round box comes factory sealed. Retail pricing from the manufacturer is $215 CAD.
