New old stock 1960's vintage Russell Green River Works ( the Russell Green River works were established along the Green River in 1834, they are a famed American knife producer ) Chefs Knife with triple brass riveted hardwood Handle. This vintage but new knife features a beautifully machined and ground 8-1/2" blade and has perfect balance that makes it a pleasure to use during long bouts of slicing, mincing and julienning . Came from long term storage of the Emergency Health Services. These rare knives were packed away in 1965 and they may even predate that. They may have the occasional light scuffs or scrapes from 50+ years of long term storage , the blades appear to have been waxed or lacquered to keep rust at bay. They were packed in large sealed wooden crates , they are a time capsule of the quality we once expected. Vintage used examples of this knife regularly sell for more than $100 !
