The brass sole plate is beautiful . There is some discoloration on the blade but is is excellent considering its age...it also feels very sharp . Where the blade is set into the handle there is a small fine crack about 7-8mm long.

On the top of the tool between where the two parts of the blade come through the hand is a lightly carved in Canadian Broad Arrow symbol. This symbol started to be used in 1907 so this makes sense for this item.

The tool may have been used but shows no signs that I can detect. It is in excellent condition for its age! A lovely tool !

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0565/1778/7844/files/IMG_3333_f6cd9f73-5829-4348-b139-89862bbdb75e.jpg?v=1793658793
https://cardontools.ca/products/near-mint-f-h-caton-early-1900s-beech-wood-spoke-shave-with-flat-brass-sole-plate-un-used-9-1-4-overall-copy
